Biography

I am a computer science masters graduate from the University of Arizona. I was born in India and completed my high school education in Delhi. I received my undergraduate degree in computer science in 2009 from Mahatma Gandhi Univesity in India. My primary research interests are in Advanced Internet Networking and Artificial Intelligence.

I worked at the Network Research Lab with Dr. Beichuan Zhang and contributed towards multiple research projects. I also TAed for the undergraduate course CSc 252 Computer Organization under Dr. Patrick Homer during Spring 2013 and Fall 2014.

Research Projects

FIB Aggregation Project (Jan 2013 - Aug 2013)

On Applying Aggregation To Router Forwarding Tables

Adding Aggregation to Quagga - Updated open-source network routing suite Quagga to incorporate our aggregation algorithm and kernel FIB management.

Simulation Framework For ISPs - Designed a virtual machine based internet topology simulation framework which deployed our version of Quagga at each of the network nodes. Developed a performance monitoring tool which captured critical router node metrics such as CPU cycles, virtual memory utilization and forwarding table update statistics.

Named Data Networking (NDN) (Aug 2013 - May 2014)

A New Content-based Routing Internet Architecture

Comparison of IP and NDN Routing - Analyzed routing performance of an IP based network under scenarios of multiple link/node failures. Implemented RFC 5286 (IP Fast Reroute) based failure handling proposals. Co-Authored a technical report "On the Role of Routing in Named Data Networking"

Ping Application For NDN Network (github) - Demonstrated how a ping operation could function over a NDN network.

NDN Traffic Generation & Performance Measurement (github) - Network packet traffic generation (consumer and producer side) for a NDN network. Allowed generation of network messages based on a probability pattern configured by user. Measured critical network performance metrics such as packet loss and round trip delays.

Forwarding Daemon For NDN (github) - Contributed towards development of a forwarding daemon for NDN. Developed tools which demonstrated application interaction with the deamon.
