The Department of Computer Science offers a dynamic program of graduate study that integrates quality research and teaching. The Department has been ranked best of its size among public universities by the National Research Council, and has a distinguished record of influential software distribution. Graduates include researchers at AT&T Labs, HP Labs, BBN, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM Almaden, and faculty at UC Davis, Rice, and Virginia.
Current areas of research include algorithms, artificial intelligence, programming languages and compilers, systems, visualization and computer graphics, parallel, distributed, and high performance computing, and security.
Our Department offers an Accelerated Master's Program, the MS degree (non-thesis and thesis option), the PhD degree, and a doctoral minor for non-CSc majors.
