Biography

When I was a child I joined a friend in an informatics course he had started, which was my first contact with a computer. My friend let me play on the computer for a few minutes and the teacher was impressed by how easily I learned to use it. From that day my interest in Informatics grew more and more. I started programming when I was 12 and started college when I was 16. My main goal in life is to improve myself a little bit every day. I do a lot of things for fun: play chess, Rubiks, play guitar, draw, program, journaling, make fun of the bad things that happen in my life, and call my mom.

Research Interests

I like doing interdisciplinary research. I see myself as a problem solver (a walking brain) and any 'useful' research (meaning research that I perceive as useful) is interesting to me

What long-term project do you want to work on?

I would like to obtain my PhD.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I am terrible at socializing. What I love the most about my work is sitting in front of the computer and working for hours without having to say a word (except when I complain about the compiler that insists in saying that there is something wrong with my syntax).

What are your career goals?

I want to find a remote job position and go back to Brazil. The dream is to be able to work making a living wage while I help my community to grow. I want to teach programming to the kids of my city (Dário Meira, Bahia, Brazil) and luckily help them get into IT.

Tell us something interesting about yourself!

I cry during movies, even the silly ones.
