Mahdi Rahimi

Biography

I am a first-year PhD student in University of Arizona’s Department of Computer Science, advised by Professor Mihai Surdeanu. I grew up in Tehran, Iran and got my Bachelor's degree there. Then, I worked for three years as a software developer in one of Iran's top-tier software companies. After that, I came to the U.S. and received my M.S. degree in computer science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I started my PhD program at UofA in spring 2019.

I am interested in research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. I am currently working on application of machine learning in healthcare.

Trying to find it...

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Working on and trying to solve problems that nobody has solved before is interesting.

What are your career goals?

This is a question I am not sure yet, I might be a researcher.

I once didn't sleep for more than 60 hours to meet a deadline. Hope it will never happen again.
