About Me

I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and moved to Arizona the summer before my senior year of High School. I earned my B.A. In English Literature (2013) and an M.A. in Higher Education, Student Affairs (2015) both from here at the University of Arizona. I have been working at UA since I was an undergraduate student employee, and never stopped – just changed roles. Between my time as a student and a professional, I have been living here in Tucson for almost 12 years.

I started as an Academic Advisor for Computer Science in Spring 2021. Prior to that, I worked within the Student Success and Retention Initiatives Unit for eight years. As an academic advisor I play two major roles for my students. The first is as a compass, giving directions and keeping them on track for their goals with clear and timely communication. The second is as a holistic resource. All students come to college with their own skills, backgrounds, and experiences. Everyone’s needs will be different, and not everything is going to be exclusively about schoolwork. I strive to be approachable, welcoming, and knowledgeable to provide information and connect students to resources in all areas of their college experience – wellness, career prep, and of course academics. I am happy to provide whatever I can for whatever brought you into my office, if it’s a list of opportunities or just a listening ear.

In my free time, I am generally doing event photography, medieval recreation (yes, like with Knights and Kings and Swords – but also weaving and painting and camping with friends), or walking my two small dogs, River and Rose. I enjoy reading Fantasy and occasional Sci-Fi series. I love Disney and Monsoon Season. While Arizona has excellent weather, I do miss the week-long drizzle of the East Coast.

Favorite Book: I have a degree in English Literature – I can’t possibly have a favorite book, even by category. However, I’m always happy to make recommendations for you, your friends, or your family. My area of most interest is sci-fi/fantasy.
Favorite Non-fiction Book: Radical Candor by Kim Scott
Favorite Fiction Author: Brandon Sanderson (at least currently)
Favorite Movies: Ever After: A Cinderella Story, The Breakfast Club, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Favorite TV Shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Stargate and Stargate Atlantis, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs
Favorite Music: Modern Country (Lee Brice, Florida-Georgia Line, etc.), most early 2000s hits, P!nk, Celtic Women, and then a weird collection of miscellanies recommendations of singles from friends and family over the years ranging from Israeli Rap to Hard Rock.
Favorite Quotes:  “Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it's a day you've had everything to do and you've done it.” – Margaret Thatche
“All knowledge is worth having.” ― Jacqueline Carey
My Motto: “The sun will still rise tomorrow.”
