Valeria Alonso
About Me
My name is Valeria (you can call me V) and I am a native Tucsonan and a two-time alumnus of the University of Arizona. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern and North African Studies and Latin American Studies in 2015. After graduation I worked as a full-time professional with Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Advancement with the University of Arizona planning recruitment events for donors, prospective incoming students, and high school counselors from around the nation. While working full-time, I attended graduate school earning a Master of Arts in Library Information Sciences in 2017. Soon after, I took a position with the Institute of the Environment managing room reservations at ENR2, creating space management analysis reports, and giving building tours on the sustainable features of the building to the UA and Tucson community. Before joining Computer Science I was the Career Development Coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Center where my main responsibility was to help students find opportunities to help them build transferable skills, and provide resources to educate students on how to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it to real world experiences. My passion for public higher education brought me to Computer Science Academic Services to help guide students on the journey to become successful young professionals.
